Your ETFO – Near North Occasional Teachers’ Local represents all OCT certified occasional teachers who teach for the Near North District School Board in the elementary panel. All daily and long-term occasional teacher members are covered by the collective agreement (contract) that can be found on this website.
Your Local holds at least two General Meetings each school year that are open for all members to attend. These meetings rotate between the three regions of the local. Each region shall host a meeting at least once every second school year.
Your Local Executive is composed of up to 10 elected NNDSB elementary occasional teachers as per the Constitution. They meet on a regular basis to govern the affairs of the Local and to review and make local budgetary decisions. The Executive receives reports and updates from the local’s committees and goes over communication issues from and for the membership. There are a variety of committees that occasional teacher members can join in order to assist in local events and business and to strengthen their engagement and knowledge with their union local. The ETFO- Near North Occasional Teachers’ Local also offers professional learning opportunities and a variety of events for members to participate in.
